The sea port of Ochamchira was built in 1942, the total area is 160 thousand square meters. m, connected by a 155 km long railway line with the Vesyoloye-Psou stations on the border of Russia and Abkhazia.

 

In 2018-2020 implemented an investment project for the development of port infrastructure in the amount of $8.5 million, within the framework of which the existing railway network and technical facilities located on the territory were modernized, dredging is in the process of being carried out to receive 10,000-20000 DVT ships, port capacities for coal transshipment were increased to 2 million tons per year.

 

As part of the second stage of modernization until 2024, investments are provided for the construction of a 345 m wave cutting, two conveyor lines, as well as dredging to receive 100,000 DVT vessels, which will gradually increase coal transshipment in the amount of 4.5 million tons per year by 2028.

 

Port infrastructure includes coal treatment plant, spiral drying plant, hopper, conveyor belt between hopper and processing plant.

 

The presence of an enrichment plant in the port allows the processing of any type of coal, including the preparation of PCI coal (dust fuel injection technology) in accordance with customer instructions and specifications.

 

The sea port of Ochamchira offers favorable cooperation to Russian coal producers and traders to expand exports to the countries of the Black Sea and Mediterranean regions, the Middle East, Africa and South Asia.
